It had been 18 years since I did any styling with our house. I was spurred into action by some damage to our walls by a bad ice dam one winter. Once that was fixed, I both needed to recarpet my entire house, and wanted to update my family room and bedroom for years, but couldn’t seem to find the direction I wanted to go in. I knew I needed some help. I started looking online for reviews about interior designers. I did look at portfolios but the most important thing to me was what clients thought about the actual designer. I feel like I might be easily swayed into accepting their style when it really might not be something that I deeply liked, because that had happened to me before. Christie Kenny’s reviews uniformly talked about how easy she was to work with, how caring she was, and about how she got to know her clients and what THEY liked and wanted. Boy, were those reviews right! And now, I can add 1 more testimonial to that list! I have been working with Christie since 2021. My original project was going to take a little while because of all the Covid delays. On top of this, I called Christie to reschedule more times than I would have ever imagined because I was taking care of my Mom and her health was failing. There seemed to always be an emergency happening. Christie was ALWAYS caring, comforting and would work around whatever was happening on my end. She is completely professional but so much more. She is also a wonderful person. She got to know me and my personal situation. She has become a good friend, but one who REALLY knows design! More importantly, she took the time and listened to me and now really knows my style and what I like! She has a great sense in knowing if I am on the fence about something and will come up with various options to choose from. At the same time, she has opened my eyes with new design ideas. Christie was recommended to us by our architect. I really needed to work with someone who could guide me on the art and science of design. I had a bit of a vision of what I wanted but didn't know how or if it would all work together. I still remember Christie saying that when you have a well designed space, people will walk in and say, "oh what a nice space" and then they will start noticing the thoughtful details and start saying "oh look at that, oh look at that". We wrapped up our project in May of 2020 and therefore no one walked into the space. As we have emerged from pandemic life and are having people in our home again, exactly what she said is happening.
